Divine!  Heavenly!  A wonderful ultra feminine frothy confection of glossy silk, fine lace and rich satin in a truly wearable size.  (please note; cap shown on display bust in first image is sold separately)

This type of vintage garment is often referred to as a bed or morning jacket.  Also called negligee, dressing sack, ( sacque ) tea, matinee or combing jacket, garments of this nature were commonly used to cover milady’s night clothes or morning wear, while she completed her toilette and breakfast.

This particular jacket dates from the teens, possibly Edwardian, to the early 1920's.

It features a popular period one piece construction.  Formed of a rich peachy pink silk, which I believe to be crepe de chine or similar luxurious lingerie weight, it is lavishly trimmed in a fine 2 inch wide cream tulle lace.  Front bodice is further embellished with handmade ribbon rosettes, multicolor woven ribbon leaf accents, and silk satin ribbon ties.

The jacket is in extremely nice vintage condition.  It actually appears to have never been worn.  An estate find, together with another lovely period silk tunic, (listed separately) obviously cherished, it had been boxed and carefully stored away for many years.

Meticulous inspection revealed no snags, rips, tears or fading.  No underarm stains.  We see no evidence of distress, thinning, weakness or deterioration to the silk, lace or satin.  We did find three extremely tiny and very light pin head size clustered specks to body, apx. 6 inches from bottom , plus one similar speck to sleeve back, directly under lace trim, so really not visible.

As you can likely see in the photos, the rosettes could use a little plumping and the silk satin ribbon could use a quick press.

Overall an exceptionally nice condition, apparently unworn, early frothy, feminine lingerie boudoir jacket.

Today, for those of the vintage persuasion, including many noted celebrities, it is not uncommon to see this type of jacket worn with evening, formal and party wear.  Whatever your inclination, whether it is to collect or to wear, this particular jacket is divine!

NOTE:  We feel fortunate that this jacket is truly a wearable size and it is actually a little big for our dress form shown in the photographs, however please remember that while the measurements listed above may sound quite large, this type of garment was intended to fit rather loosely, allowing the silky fabric to drape softly around the body.  Additionally the jacket was usually worn over one, or several other garments.
To aid in sizing, the measurements of the dress form shown in
second image are included below for your information;

Bust ~ 34 inches

Waist ~ 26 & ½ inches

Hips ~ 35 inches
