This nice vintage Edwardian shirt waist, dating to apx. 1911 - 1912, appears to be entirely hand made in fine dark cream or ecru silk, patterned with narrow vertical pin stripes of dark blue, red and light cream.  Hand made lace and mother of pearl buttons further adorn front.  Pretty ivory or bone adjusters decorate each wrist.  Two wide pleats or tucks add interest,  beginning at back, running up over the shoulder and stopping just below the bust.

This blouse is a nice wearable size.   See our measurements above for specific details.   It measures about 40 inches at the bust, but due to the tucks a few more inches could be utilized at front, if necessary.  If there is more fabric in the bust area than is necessary however, this can easily be tucked in, since the silk is light, with nice drape and not bulky.  This silk is soft, with a slightly nubby texture like pongee.

The blouse is in excellent vintage estate condition.  We see no stains, marks, snags, wear, holes or repairs.  We actually see no evidence that the blouse was ever worn.  All of the stitching is very finely done and appears to be completed entirely by hand.  In the first picture it may appear that some of the little ~ points ~ on the hand made passementerie lace trim  are missing, but they are just folded under.   I didn’t notice this until after taking the pictures, but I did double check after the fact to ensure that all is as it should be.
The color was somewhat difficult to capture accurately.  Please see our third and fourth images for the best representation of the warm ecru ~ cream shade, as well as the color of the stripes.

A very nice, extremely well made Edwardian blouse in an attractive color/print, which is somewhat hard to find, as whites and solid colors are the most commonly seen.
