An exceptionally nice very long, creamy white antique embroidered lace scarf, tie
or lappett for securing a hat or headwear, c. 19th century. Today it can be used
to embellish anything in need of a bow or flourish.
The lace is stitched to the netting in a fancy floral and scroll pattern, accented
with French knots.
When we purchased this lace it was wrapped in old paper and appeared to be unused.
I gave it a careful soaking to freshen and it is now perfectly clean and gently
pressed.
This antique textile is in excellent condition. We see no stains, tears or holes,
and no broken areas of netting. A fine early example of embroidered net lace.
