A very charming antique early French floral watered or warp effect roses cretonne drawstring boudoir, vanity or sewing bag.

This classic antique French cretonne features pink and burgundy roses, accented with muted greens and golds, with brown stripes, on a creamy ground.

Bag interior is lined with the softest polished pink cotton.  There is a small gathered pocket on one side.

Pink silk crochet rings hold the antique drawstring for closure.

All middle panels, or sections, of the bag contain some kind of light stiffener, with the cretonne sew over it.  The sides are not stiffened.

This antique bag is in very nice antique condition.  Slight shabby chic, as the cretonne has likely muted somewhat over the years, but in my humble opinion that is part of the charm of this type of fabric.  No stains or marks noted, however the fabric would likely brighten with cleaning, but since the type of stiffener is unknown, I prefer to leave that choice to buyer.  The interior remains quite bright, clean and nice, with just a few pencil point size light specks and a tiny bit of dust to bottom panel.  No holes, rips, tears, etc.  All original crochet rings present, along with what appears to original soft cord drawstring.

A very nice collectible antique multi use textile vanity, boudoir, or sewing bag that could also be used as a purse or a handbag.
