Everything about this vintage Art Deco era, 1920's - 1930's boudoir lingerie bag / case is rich and glamorous.

The body of the case is a rich, soft, silky smooth black satin.  It is lined in a similar, though slightly lighter weight sumptuous orange and lightly padded, so it appears somewhat plump and puffy.  Case front is decorated in a charming passementerie basket motif, featuring stylized embroidered florals and velvet applique fruit.
The embroidery was very well executed in silky, shiny floss using satin and other stitches and the velvet appliqués were hand applied, then further decorated with hand painted gold accents.  Due to the puffy applique work, as well as the layered embroidery technique the

This case would have been used in the boudoir for storing delicate negligees, peignoir sets, nightdresses, gowns, pajamas and other lingerie, such as night caps, corsets, brassieres, stockings, etc.

I am very pleased to report that this lingerie case is in extremely nice vintage estate condition.    We find no snags, rips, tears, holes, stains, etc.  After examining the entire case with great care we find only one very small area on the orange satin where an original tag may have been affixed and when removed left the barest evidence of removal. This is very small/minor and noted only upon extremely close inspection.  Due to the excellent condition, as well as the vibrant, non faded colors of both fabric and trims, we believe it likely that this case was stored away and never actually used.
Please Note:  I overlooked photographing the back of the case, however it is just as nice as the front; identical, matching black satin, with no decoration.

This case good also easily be used as a pillow, by simply inserting some type of additional padding, cushion or form..

The Art Deco period is known for rich, vibrant colors, glamour and sophistication.  This lovely lingerie case, with its’ lush, sumptuous fabric, opulent passementerie trim and vivid color combination certainly is a fine, collectable example of the era.
