This vintage sterling silver thimble was manufactured by Simons, a company that began operation in 1840, famous for high quality thimbles and other sterling articles.  This vintage thimble dates to apx. c. 1910 - 20’s.
It features a very wide band decorated in a transitional Art Deco geometric design, incorporating diamonds centered with stylized flowers, accented with a circular ring motif

The thimble is quite clearly marked in the apex as to maker and material, with size indicated on outer decorative band.

Although it could use a polish, this sewing ~ quilting item is in exceptionally nice vintage estate condition.  The design and detail of the thimble actually still feels crisp to the touch, as if this thimble was rarely, if ever used.   It is free of holes, dents or any other kind of problems. The fancy engraved and chased pattern design remains very defined.  Cartouche remains free of monogram..  A very nice old Art Deco geometric motif sterling silver thimble.
