A very fine antique repousse sterling silver toed / footed salver or tray, manufactured
by S Kirk and Son Co,
c. 1903 ~ 1907.
This early example features very high relief floral and foliage repousse, accented
with fancy scrolls.
Tray middle is decorated in the old style, repeating, hand punched design, centered
with a charming feather and ribbon cartouche.
The salver is elevated with three very finely detailed ball and claw toes, or feet.
This is a very well made, substantial antique salver, weighing a considerable 4.74
Troy ounces.
It is extremely nice estate condition, with only a few tiny pin pricks, no dings,
dents or repairs and sits perfectly level, with no wobbles or other issues of any
kind.
Cartouche is monogrammed in a very ornate fancy script that is difficult to decipher,
possibly; WDB.
Kirk salvers are becoming harder to find, especially the early, heavy, finely detailed
antique examples such as this.
