An exceptionally fine, original, heavy old sterling silver cheese scoop manufactured
by Towle Silversmiths in the multi-motif repousse Arlington pattern, first produced
c. 1884.
This is the old style, period design, which we believe is referred to as a Stilton
and likely dates the scoop to the 1880's. It is a large, heavy, all sterling antique
serving piece; weight is a considerable 2.63 troy ounces.
This server has never been monogrammed.
It is in extremely nice estate condition. We see no edge nicks or other issues to
scoop and the handle has not been twisted or tweaked. There are no dings, dents,
damage or repairs.
A really fine, large, heavy, original period example.
