Material: 14 Karat Yellow Gold
Size: Length = apx. 2 & 3/16 inches, 54mm, Width
= apx. 1 & 3/4 inches, 42mm
Quantity: 1 pair (2 bracelets)
A matched pair of antique very fancy engraved 14 karat yellow gold bangles, often
referred to as wedding bracelets, c. 1895 ~ 1910.
As is often the case with Victorian
- Edwardian jewelry the bracelets are not hallmarked, but they tested 14k, both electronically
and with acid, using comparison test needles. This result was also confirmed in
an independent jeweler test.
Both bracelets are in exceptionally nice estate condition. They are oval in form
and have not been bent or twisted out of shape. A few tiny impressions and scratches
to interior, but no dings or dents visible to exterior. Hinges and clasps appear
to be original; free of damage and work appropriately. Safety chains are present.
Both are engraved in a period leaf and vine motif, on a pebbled ground. The high
polished leaf pattern against the less reflective ground, really catches the light
and makes the design sparkle.
Although not extremely large, since they are hinged and open up they are very wearable
bracelets. See size info above.
A very nice, harder to find matched pair of antique gold bracelets.
