The article; Fifty Years of American Women includes numerous period fashion drawings from Vogue, as well as highlights and information regarding a number of noteworthy women, such as; Anna Held, Carry Nation, Margaret Sanger, Mary Pickford, Theda Bara, Gloria Swanson. Rita Hayworth and many more.

The Acceleration of Science article states that:  50 years brought more progress than was  made in previous 5000.  It features several interesting timelines; one showing the progress from horse draw carriage to a 1949 aircraft and another showing the span of human life and how technology has increased length significantly.   Yet another shows destructive power increasing from a black powder shell in 1900 to the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945.

Headliners of the 1920's includes many high profile stories of the period, including articles on Charles Lindbergh, John Held, Jr., Red Grange, Jack Dempsey, Bobby Jones, Gilda Gray, Rudy Valee, Herbert Hoover and John Scopes, to name a few.

To say this magazine is packed full of very informative, significant articles is almost an understatement!

Additionally it includes quite a number of interesting color illustrations and advertisements, as well as plentiful similar black and white, from many of the popular and collectable companies of the day.

It is complete, with no missing pages, however several pages at magazine center have come loose from the staples.  It is in fair overall condition.  Covers have some wear/tear/loss at spine, with some small numbers written on front and some slight general soiling and mars.     Interior pages show some light age related darkening at edges, with some having a small tear/wear right at midline edge, but they are free of writing, etc..  Staples remain intact and secure.  Spine is quite tight.  While not in flawless condition it is complete.

Certainly an historic time capsule held within the pages of this mid - century special issue Life magazine.  Related:  ephemera
