This McCall magazine features a large quantity of information, examples, patterns, directions and projects encompassing a wide variety of needlework, hand work, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, embroidery, applique, quilting, sewing and home decorating. In addition to numerous articles regarding the needlework referenced above, from hats, gloves, rugs, purses, and handbags, to children's items, the contents page also lists many other interesting features and projects, a few of which follow;
* Aprons & Blouses
* Afghans
* Boy's & Men's Knitting
* Children's Knitting
* Children's Wear
* Christmas Cards
* Christmas Tree Ornaments
* Draperies
* Embroidery
* Gifts
* Fabric Painting
* Felt Jacket & Skating Set
* Infants Knitting
* Hats & Bags
* Household Crochet
* Metal Tooling
* Needlepoint
* Painted Tin
* Paint Your Own
* Pennsylvania Dutch Bedspread
* Pennsylvania Dutch Tablecloth
* Pressed Flowers
* Rugs
* Weaving
* Women's Knitting
The magazine includes quite a number of interesting color illustrations and advertisements, as well as plentiful similar black and white.
It is complete and intact, with no missing pages and is in very good overall condition. Interior pages show some light age related darkening at edges, but are otherwise very nice and free of writing, tears, etc. (only one interior page has a very small 1/4 inch tear) Staples remain intact and secure. Spine is quite tight. Cover is showing some light wear to spine edges, with bump to lower 1/2 inch of spine and separation of front cover at this small area.
A very interesting, informative, colorful magazine, full of fun craft and hobby projects. Advertisements and articles show great examples of period fashions and products.
A few of my favorite features; instructions for making pictured twin cardigans for the newly weds, a Walco Bead Company advertisement showing really attractive beaded handbags, purses, hats and ties, instructions for knitting the pictured outfits for brother, sister and baby, a Paragon Needlecraft advertisement, showing various beautifully embroidered articles for every room in your dream house, including a Colonial quilt, linen table ensembles, organdy cloths, tea sets, towels, etc., as well as the usual pictured Christmas gifts, with instructions.
PLEASE NOTE: We also have three other early needlework magazines listed in this category and we have priced them so if all are purchased at one time they can be shipped together in our least expensive shipping group.
